Your agreement with Dreambits

Dreambits is provided by Valentin Labs AB. These terms cover use of our web library and subscriptions. Our company and contact details are below. Please read them before creating an account or starting a subscription. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

Real purchases are currently closed on dreambitslibrary.com. The separate test site dreambits-preview.netlify.app uses Stripe sandbox, where payments are simulated. The subscription terms below describe the planned paid service. A real subscription requires an active payment step clearly showing price and payment obligation; creating an account or choosing statistics does not start a subscription.

At launch, new subscriptions are offered to customers resident in Sweden or the USA with a billing address in the same country. Provide accurate information; if your country is not supported you cannot subscribe. Being able to visit the website does not mean purchases are offered in every country.

The automated US flow also requires a US-issued card to check the tax location. This applies when starting, changing cards and renewing. Missing or conflicting information requires review before payment can proceed. Contact support if you have a foreign-issued card or move to another country; do not enter an incorrect address to continue. A review does not mean we can accept every card or country.

Family Accounts and family use

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into an agreement to create an account or purchase a subscription. Children use the library under the supervision of a parent, guardian or responsible adult.

Provide an email address you control, confirm it and keep your password private. Contact us if you suspect account misuse. Access is for personal, non-commercial use within your household. Do not share credentials between unrelated households or use one subscription as a school or institutional licence.

What the library includes

Dreambits offers children’s books, page-based narration and optional background sound in a calm, advertising-free reader. Available books, languages and audio vary. An internet connection and a supported modern browser are required; offline access is not currently included.

You may browse book information without a subscription. Full reading requires a confirmed account and an active trial or paid subscription. Saving a book to your bookshelf does not purchase it or guarantee permanent access to that title. Adult supervision remains important when choosing content for your child.

Trials, prices and renewal

The introductory trial lasts 14 days and requires a payment card. It starts after you complete the payment step, not when you create an account. One introductory trial is available per account. Returning subscribers who have used it start a paid subscription immediately.

When you take out a subscription, we email a contract confirmation containing the price, any free trial and the terms that applied to your agreement. It is also available under Account.

• Monthly plan: USD 9.99 per month. Annual plan: USD 79.99 per year, billed for the year in advance.
• Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the selected plan is charged automatically. It then renews each month or year until canceled.
• The stated prices include any applicable taxes. Review the total and billing date displayed at the payment step before confirming. Your card provider may apply currency-conversion or other fees.
• Stripe processes payments. Dreambits does not receive your full card number. If a payment fails or the subscription expires, reading access may be suspended until payment is resolved. Your account remains available to manage billing.

Canceling or changing your payment details

Open Account → Manage subscription to cancel the next renewal in Stripe’s customer portal. For US subscriptions, use “Change card or complete payment” in Account instead to change cards and complete any bank verification. Changing a card alone does not charge it; if an invoice is pending, its amount is shown and you must authorise it before payment completes. For other subscriptions, payment details and invoices can be managed in the customer portal. Contact support for help with country changes, US invoices or if you cannot use the flow.

Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of your current trial or paid period. Cancel before your trial ends to avoid its first subscription charge. Unused time is not normally refunded solely because you stop reading, but this does not limit statutory withdrawal, refund or other consumer rights. Signing out, removing a book or clearing browser storage does not cancel a subscription.

Withdrawal, problems and consumer rights

Where EU/EEA consumer rules apply, you normally have 14 days from entering a distance contract to withdraw. This right is separate from the free trial. Opening a book does not waive your withdrawal rights. Use “Withdraw from agreement here” under Account → Agreements and withdrawal, confirm the agreement and submit your notice. We email a timestamped acknowledgment to your account address. You may also contact support with a clear statement that you wish to withdraw.

If the service is faulty or not supplied as agreed, contact us so we can address it. You retain mandatory rights to remedies and refunds. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that applicable consumer law gives you.

The acknowledgment confirms receipt of your notice. Support handles termination and any refund separately and normally responds within two business days. Statutory deadlines are unaffected. Ordinary cancellation at the end of a period is different from withdrawal.

Using and respecting the books

Books, artwork, narration, music, branding and software belong to Valentin Labs AB or their respective rights holders. Your subscription provides access for private reading; it does not transfer ownership.

Do not redistribute or commercially exploit the content without permission. Do not bypass access controls, scrape protected books, interfere with the service or use it unlawfully. This does not restrict uses permitted by mandatory law.

Availability and service changes

We aim to keep Dreambits reliable, but maintenance, network problems or provider outages may interrupt access. Books and features may change, including when licences expire. If a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide information and the remedies required by applicable law.

Any future price change will be communicated before it applies to your renewal, so you can decide whether to continue. Changes do not retrospectively alter a paid period. Material changes to these terms will be notified with their effective date.

Suspension and closing an account

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect security, address unlawful use or respond to a material breach of these terms. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and allow you to resolve the issue.

You can delete your reader account under Account after confirming your current password and the consequences. This immediately ends any active subscription and reading access, including unused trial or paid time. No automatic refund is issued by this action; statutory rights remain unaffected. Download any account data and invoices you want to keep first. We only confirm account deletion after billing has been stopped. If deletion is interrupted, your subscription may already be canceled; retry or contact us. Administrator accounts are closed through support.

Contact support@dreambitslibrary.com for help with your account, reading, payments or complaints. We aim to respond within two business days. This is a response target and does not limit your statutory rights or deadlines. Never email passwords, one-time codes or full card details.

Responsibility and resolving disputes

Dreambits is responsible for providing the service in accordance with the agreement and applicable law. We do not exclude liability or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Swedish law applies, without removing mandatory protections you have as a consumer in your country of residence. Contact us first about a complaint. Eligible disputes may be referred to Sweden’s National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). You may also use a competent court under applicable rules; these terms do not require all consumers to bring proceedings exclusively in Stockholm.
